Dr. Dong Tao is a managing director and the vice chairman for Greater China at Credit Suisse Private Banking, Asia Pacific.
Dr. Tao was ranked No. 1 in a First Business news survey in 2011 and is highly regarded by investors. He has published more than 10 books in his career.
Dr. Tao joined Credit Suisse in 1998 as the chief regional economist for non-Japan Asia, with a focus on China. He moved from the investment bank to the private bank in July 2016.
Prior to joining Credit Suisse, he was with Schroders Securities Asia as a senior regional economist and head of China research.
Dr. Tao holds a PhD and a Master of Science degree from the University of Utah, as well as a Bachelor of Arts degree from Beijing Foreign Language University. He has worked in China, the US and Japan. He has been based in Hong Kong since 1994.
